MICHAEL DE LUCA AND DANA BRUNETTI TO PRODUCE UNIVERSAL PICTURES AND FOCUS FEATURES’ FILM ADAPTATION OF THE #1 BESTSELLING BOOK “FIFTY SHADES OF GREY”
LOS ANGELES, CA, July 10, 2012—Universal Pictures and Focus Features today announced that veteran producers Michael De Luca and Dana Brunetti will produce Fifty Shades of Grey. De Luca and Brunetti will produce the film based on E L James’ #1 Bestselling book alongside James. The announcement was made by Universal Pictures Co-Chairman, Donna Langley and Focus Features’ Chief Executive Officer, James Schamus.
In March, Universal Pictures and Focus Features announced the acquisition of rights to the entire Fifty ShadesTrilogy with Focus Features marketing and distributing the first film in partnership with Universal. To date, Vintage Books has sold 31 million e-book and print copies of the trilogy in English-language markets worldwide. In the U.S. alone, the “Fifty Shades” trilogy has sold over 20 million copies in e-book and print making it one of the fastest selling book series ever.
“At its core, Fifty Shades of Grey is a complex love story, requiring a delicate and sophisticated hand to bring it to the big screen,” said Langley. “Mike and Dana’s credits more than exemplify what we need in creative partners and we’re glad to have them as part of our team.”
“Michael De Luca is a dream producer, whose combination of vision, taste and fearlessness is the perfect match forFifty Shades of Grey,” said Schamus.
As an award-winning producer, De Luca has made his mark on some of the most critically-acclaimed films of the last few years including 2011’s Best Picture nominee Moneyball starring Brad Pitt as Oakland A’s former general manager, Billy Beane. Brunetti and De Luca served together as producers with Scott Rudin and Cean Chaffin on The Social Network which earned critical accolades, including an Academy Award® nomination for Best Picture. Brunetti and De Luca are collaborating with Scott Rudin on the upcoming Tom Hanks’ film Captain Phillips, the true story of a cargo ship captain held hostage by Somali pirates and rescued by Navy SEALs. I hope the casting director will stick close to the description of the characters. Example: Christian has “unruly dark copper color hair” and his body is like a “Greek God”. I see some people have expressed some young actors (yes, the are hot!) but I would like to see an unknown, up-coming actor to play Christian. I just cannot see Ryan Gosling or Ian Somerhalder as Christian (sorry).

I think Colin would be great if they can get the hair color right and his hair long enough. I picture Matthew McConaughey or someone like that. He has to have the copper hair. I think a new and upcoming would be great. Age has to be right too.
I was actually picturing Mathew McConaughey as I was reading the first book. There is something about Mathews expressions that make me feel the same way Ana does. But I am leaning more towards Ian Somerhalder because he is so damn hot. Vamipre Diary for me was like reading these books. How he moves and his looks made we want to climb the wall.

Absolutely 150% agree. As far as my “personal” heart-throb goes, it is not Alexander Skarsgard BUT!!! He is so perfect for the role, down to being just straight out arrogant, sooo super sweet and loving to OMG sexy as all heck!! And the body?? That’s a double OMGOSSSHHHH and he’s big (tall – manyly)and what he can do – I’ve been watching True Blood and I’ve definitely come around to appreciating every little piece of him – PERFECT for the role. Ryan Gosling – yes, handsome but as far as straight-up work it sex appeal – he’s “too” much of a young man – What I gather from from the books is that Christian Grey does for something for the libido of all ages of women. (Not Ryan – and he also has a beautiful body in every masculine way of beautiful – he just doesn’t have the vibe.)

I think this is great. I really can not wait for the moive(s) to come out. I have read the book six times in a row. When I first started reading the book, Alexander Skarsgard pictured in my head. I still see him as Christian, (even when watching trueblood). I know that we can not pick the actors. Some of us just want to help. Alexander Skarsgard fits the part as if he was born to play it. Like you wrote it for him. (I just really hope you give him the chance). E.L.James thank you for writting such great books. I look forward to more of the Fifty Shades.(I like the idea of doing it in Christian way also).

I agree completely!! I am ALL for Alexander Skarsgard and just like you, I also invisioned Alex as Christian Grey! I think that his role in true blood shows us how talented and what a perfect fit he would be as Christian Grey!!
Even though he doesn’t have the tall/dark looks, the delicate acting ability required is completely fulfilled, in my opinion, by actor Matt Czuchry (The Good Wife series actor, Cary). He’s got that stillness, a real measuring type of personality that would absolutely NAIL Christian’s character.
I think Alex Pettyfer as Christian and Shenae Grimes or Jessica Stroup as Ana. So very excited about this movie!!

I suggest not rushing through the details if you need many parts to complete the passion than by all means do it! Do not rush it to make it fit into a 2 hour film…

This film will be very delicate to make. Obviously we want it on the big screen but you can’t put pornography on the big screen. Just reading the books the imagery is so intense that you can visualize everything, bringing that imagery to the big screen is a dangerous and delicate task. I look forward to the artistic nature of what will come from the creative minds behind this film.
Everyone has an idea for the actors – I know the characters are young in the books, but the readership is so much older (as in 30s and 40s), I hope the actors aren’t too “kid-like.”
But my suggestion is not the actors, mine is for director: Ang Lee. He would be able to pull it off. In the hands of the wrong director, the whole thing might come off as cheesy – or even a joke – which is my fear (and, I suppose, yours too!) Thanks.

I cannot wait for this movie. My first choice for Christian would be Ryan Gosling. But I also would not mind Chris Pine or Taylor Kitsch. As Ana the only I can picture is Emilia Clark from Game of Thornes.

I would love for non-mainstream actors to play the roles of Christian and Ana. You should seriously consider PETER PORTE as Christian. He was deliciously creative with his recent role as a devilish character who could charm the pants off of anyone with his smile!
Peter Porte would make a great Christian, but I vote for Joe Manganiello (Alcide from True Blood). I think he would be AWESOME as Christian.
For Ana, I think Natalie Portman would be a good choice.
I would just like to recommend Olivia Thirlby for the role of Ana. This is a girl who is beautiful without being overly beautiful which I think represents Ana so well. Just a thought.

I honestly think they will need to creep into the 2nd book for the ending to the first film. The first film would need to end with them getting back together. I think quite a bit can be cut out of 50 Shades of Grey, as a majority of the character development and arc take place in Darker and Freed.

I think Mr Grey should be played by Jonathan ryhs Meyers. I loved the first book, on to the second one now. I actually was emotional reading the last page of the first book. Romance is so very complicated and I think the book captures this well. Brilliant!

I am kinda excited but kinda apprehensive. There is no way the movie can stick to the book and. I love the kinkiness of the book but am afraid the movie will have to tame it down for the silver screen.

Finally!!! Someone with some sense!!! He is Christian grey. Tall, muscular, but more importantly he has the intensity and the vulnerability for the role. The only actor I have seen who has that physical grace, the charm, and above all, he commands the screen and can portray the sort of imperial and dominant attitude that is Christian Grey. Minor things like hair and eye color can easily be changed.
Alexander Skarsgard is about as perfect a Christian as you can get.
YES! YES! YES! Alexander Skarsgard is a MUST for this role. PLEASE do not cast Ryan Gosling or Channing Tatum or anyone with a Twilight connection. It is so important that this role appeals to the mature female as well as younger fans of the book, as I would imagine this is the stronger market in terms of book sales. As Rosalynh says, Alexander is tall and imposing with a good body, and would be able to portray all of the characteristics of Christian Grey. I don’t think he would be shy of the steamy scenes either! As for Anna… who cares really… it’s Alexander who I had in my head all the way!

Wow, this is exciting news. I can hardly wait, altough I would rather have the energy of E.L James concentrated on rewriting the books in Christian’s pov.
Ian Somerhalder is way too old to play Christian the way I imagined him, although he is hot. My Mr. Grey would be Alex Skarsgard, although he is too old as well. I looked through most of the other suggestions here, too but I don’t see my Christian in them. I want to throw in a new name, like Alex, from True Blood: Ryan Kwanten. He looks like he could be 27, he got tousled hair, which can be dyed. He looks cute and sexy at the same time and I do not think Jason Stackhouse minds a sex scene or two. I mean considering some of his scenes in True Blood Season 1 … He did have sex with a woman who was suspended from the ceiling while watching vampire porn, altough Maudette Pickens was f*** ugly. I could see Ryan in the character. He could pull it off and outside of True Blood hardly anyone knows who he is.

Im a big TrueBlood fan and honestly, Jason is my favourite character. I could definitely see him play ‘Fifty’. I also like the idea of Ryan Reynolds, he has experiance playing a serious role in Amityville Horror as well as a comedy role in The Proposal. If they choose the Actors badly, the movie will go horribly wrong. My ideal Anastasia would be Emmy Rossum, tho Emily Browning would be an excellent choice too.

Please do not do as was done with Anne Rice’s Lestate books and choose actors to play these rolls just because they have a “big name’. Not many ‘big names’ could pull off truly being Mr. Grey and Ms. Steele or even Taylor and Ms. Jones. Just as Cruise & Pitt didn’t pull off Lestat or Louis – big names drew money, but did nothing for justice to the book or characters.

I totaly agree on you about Alex Pettyfer. I pictured him the entire time I read this. Such a perfact match. I was sad to finish and can’t wait to maybe read more from EL James.. I have to be honest I am not much of a reader.I have read maybe 4 books my whole life not counting these three and I really want to find more to read now. I read all three books 10 days and was dying for more. Excited about the movie and hopefully read more soon. Any suggestions?
You might enjoy On the Island, a new release. Not nearly as graphic as Fifty, but a very good read. Let me know if you like it.

I think it is brilliant that the project has a male/female team producing. Congrats on a great team. Good luck with the casting. There is no way of making everyone happy, my only hope is that the focus is on the acting. Looks come second for me. My Christian is Benedict Cumberbatch, his voice, stillness and emotional range is what keeps me from opening my mind to other possibilities. BUT I realize he will definitely not be everyone else’s Christian. So as I said, best of luck with the casting.

I think the PERFECT actor for Christian is Taylor Kitsch. He has the body, the smoldering eyes that seem to always have some secret or playful mystery to them and his lips are perfect by your description in the book. Where can we go to vote!. Just watch an interview with him and you will see

Definately agree with Taylor Kitsch as Christian! He is the epitome of sexiness with a touch of mystery and danger. You can absolutely get lost in his eyes and his body can excite you beyond control…just as Christian’s does Ana.

I am not sure about Taylor. Would be interesting to see. Christain is such a complex guy, it’s gonna take a really good actor to be able to play all “fifty” Christians. I love Emma Stone but i do not think she would be a good Ana. I personally think Jennifer Lawernce would be a good choice for Ana.

I completely agree with you! Christian Grey needs to be great looking! Most of the book is about his looks… Matt Bomer is another choice, but I’m not sure if he can pull off the macho Christian aura. But Matt Bomer is the ultimate Christian Grey, looks and everything.
I was not a fan of Matt Bomer because of his possible sexualy orientation, but after watching the movie teaser on Youtube, he is PERFECT for Christial Grey. Ian too short! Christian is tall, it is stated enough times in the book. BUt still would like Amanda Seyfried for Ana!
I read all 3 books in 1 week, i just couldn’t put it down. When i 1st found out Christian was into S&M i was a little bleek but carried on reading cos the story was good, by the time i started book 2 i was totally in love with Christian Grey, and was feeling so sorry for him. I’m am so excited there’ll be a movie of the book,I just hope it does the book justice… I dont mind Matt Bomer, Ian Somerhalder or even Colin Egglesfield to play Christain Grey. But i would definitely go with Alexis Bledel as Anatasia as i think she has that whole innocent Virgin kind of look about her, she’d be great. I have decided to start reading the Trilogoy again cos my day just isn’t complete without reading about Mr Grey…. Oh and i must say i loved the last chapter of book 3 as told from Christian’s side. Well E.L.James so far you are the only author to get me to read a trilogy in 1 week, and have me start it all over again. The books have left me wishing that more men could be like Christian towards their girlfriends or wives ( minus the s&m tho lol). I’m referring the to the adoration and love he has for Ana. I love how it ended as well, a really beautiful story.I laughed and cried in this book and then when i finished it i balled my eyes out lol, because i was just so happy for the both of them.
I too as many it seems read all 3 bks in 1 week, finished last night. I am now in Christian Grey withdrawal & left wanting for more! Can’t wait for the movies, but sure hoping EL James will continue on w/this saga soon. However, based on her interview on Katie Couric’s show she has bks she plans to write 1st. Many want more of CG POV like @ the end & she claims it was the publishers that made her write this (not her idea). She said something like CG is a very complex character to write from his POV (no doubt) I gather she is not up for the challenge right now!!! We can only hope & pray that she will see the light!!!! LOL I felt it was the “Grandest of Love stories.” I think I will have to re-read the bks again. #2 was my favorite, than #1 & last, but not least #3. We all want a CHRISTIAN GREY!!!!

I read the books in 1 week as well thats how good they where. I was also glad that they are making a movie out of it and I hope that Ian Somerhalder gets the part of Christian.
My granddaughter has to read them for her Phsyscalogy class in collage. She may be 19 but she is still a virgin and believes in staying that way till she gets married. She is not a sex crazed girl the books will make her blush.

I also think Ryan Gosling would be a great Christian and I believe Matt Bomer might pull it off well….Ryan’s acting ability could certainly pull all of 50′s personalities off well! It will be interesting to see who is cast!
I think that Alexander Skarsgård truly should be considered as Christian, even though he is blonde. He has this way with his eyes – he can express what he’s feeling with them and almost take you back to a moment in his life. It’s eerie and exquisite. If anyone has seen his character on True Blood, you can see how well he can portray the controlling, sexy, confident, and successful character he plays. And he is tall and hot! And whenever he has his shirt off, his pants hang on his hips in that gorgeous way that E.L. James describes on Christian! He is such a great actor; I have seen him in other roles as well. Check him out if you haven’t! I agree on Emma Stone and Jennifer Lawrence as good “Ana” choices. Jennifer looks more like I would picture Ana would look. Perhaps Natalie Portman as well. She is always a great actress.

All these people are too old, the characters are 27 and 21, he has to be gorgeouse and christian bale just isn’t, intense yes. Christian has to be tall and Ana has to be small.

I am a huge Ian Somerhalder fan also but all I could see reading the books was Alexander Skarsgard. I would love to see him get the part, I just dont think ANY ONE else could pull it off. Alexander Skarsgard is too old to play Christian. I think the character really needs to be portrayed by somebody in their 20′s is close to it. We have to remember Christian is only in his 20′s even though he may act much older.

Absolutely! Ian Somerhalder is smoldering which is what Christian is. The person who plays Christian needs to have immediate striking beauty which Ian has. Like the novel, when ladies see Ian, most would gape at him too. He’s perfect for the role with the piercing eyes, strong profile, and dark demeanor (that parallels Christian’s dark past and desires). He’s polished, young but not baby-face young, mature looking and believeable as a man who would live a BDSM lifestyle. Above all, Ian has what it takes to execute all of Christians expressions. His amazing eyes can suddenly become angry or soften to hold fear or burn with lust, his half smile that oozes ‘wicked thoughts’, his own natural ‘just-?&$@ed’ hair, his gorgeous smile, dark voice and there’s no need to talk about his body. This will be a hard choice for the casting crew as the role of a sexpert is a large one. As for Ana, my choice is Alexis Bledel. She’s naturally beautiful and would only need mascara and lip gloss like Ana, innocent looking, bookish, sexy and has the right enticing bottom lip. Alexis and Ian would make a beautiful couple on screen. I would be upset if Ian was not Christian. Good luck and can’t wait!

I think your choices are great, and I used to think Ian would be perfect as Christian. But know I feel that Mathew Bomer from the show White Collar is PERFECT! Once I saw his picture I thought that he was the epitome of Christian Grey. He has the right look- sexy, handsome, and mysterious yet innocent. I liked Alexis Bledel as Ana, but I think Emmy Rossum could also be a good choice for Ana. She has an innocence about her and the perfect big eyes that Ana has!

When I started reading the first “Fifty” all I could do was see his face in the book and I have ever since. The eyes, the smile, the moves and the gestures are not just compatible but, at least for me, who started reading the book without a face for Mr. Grey, when I saw Ian acting (and I’m not a Vampire Diaries fan), I just couldn’t imagine anyone else. He became the face for Mr. Grey immediately…

You are so right! he is EXACTLY what I see for Christian – I think that Felicity Jones is a great Ana – Needs to be some unknowns for these roles.
The idea of Felicity Jones sounds good to me as well, but while reading about Christian’s “snorts; frowns; half way smiles” I kept picturing Rupert Friend. I am sure it is not going to be easy to cast these two characters, as Anastasia is as surprisingly complicated as Christian. Ultimately, to me Ana should be the version of a young Ali MacGraw.

Am thrilled with the idea of the movie however I do have high expectations and I don’t see how they can reach the darkness without this movie being R rated.

I don’t feel that be can bring CHRISTIAN to Christian. They need a man that is taller. And more mature. Seductive and yet innocent. He has to have a look that can not to be blunt but make you wet from the first sight of him. Strong jaw line and built to look god like. RyanGosling. But not him of course he needs to have copper/ dark hair. I also think that Katherine McAfee would be absolutely beautiful a chose that would bring Anastasia to life. She is innocent yet sexy. Beautiful with little make up and a body that would melt any man’s heart. Her purity is how I depict how the woman they chose should be. Now as for the rest of the wonder characters.. well a brother Elliot he should sweet cute and not as tall.. someone like Matthew Bomer sweet and looks great in a suit. Now Kate needs to be sexy smart and of course red haired and vibrant. I hope and pray they chose a cast that brings.every word she typed to a wonderful story I can watch over and over again. Such as I read over and over again. I love how she brings such life to this love story. Thank E.L James you have made me fall in love with reading.
I think he’s a good choice but I see Christian bale as a far better fit….he def fulfills the role for the ”white and dark” knight….as far as Anna I can see Amanda seyfield, Emma or Anne Hathaway…..every woman will see their own fantasy character but that’s who I see playing the roles perfectly!!!! As I began reading the first book, the actor that I pictured the instant I started visualizing Christian Grey was Ryan Philippe. His hair falls the same way, his unshaven face, and his square jaw. He is the only one I pictured reading the other two books!! As far as Ana, I thought the innocence of Kirsten Stewart from her character in Twilight would fit, but I am not sure she would fit the role completely..

I disagree I think for Christian they need someone with experience. Someone who will know exactly what to do, and has the experience needed to portray the attitude, the sexiness, and have the mysterious side that Christian Grey has and that alone is not an easy task. I feel bad for whoever has to pick Ana and Christian because if they pick badly the movie will do so horribly.
I am so glad that it will be made into a movie. I got depressed after finishing all three books. I felt like I was no longer a part of their world. I wanted to stay there.

Me too, after reading it twice you pick up on things you missed the first time. But, I can honestly say, I’m totally NOT A FAN of twilight, so I’m glad these books turned out to be an “erotic” romance/contemporary.

i think you all have great choices. but my christian is jake gyllenhaal. after seeing love and other drugs i beleive he can totally deliver the emotional complexity of the role as well as pull off the sex part.
I agree that it is only fitting that they had a male AND female producer to capture both point of views. And yes everyone has a different picture of who Christian and Ana should be. Honestly, thinking of Ana is a LOT easier than Christian (he is every woman’s fantasy right now and that is hard to find in reality..lol) M picture of Ana is Emmy Rossum. So innocent looking, but can be assertive and absolutely, breathtakingly gorgeous. My sister thinks Lily Collins is perfect. Different POV’s..lol…although, I have to admit…the suggestion of Taylor Kitsch wasn’t that bad….
I believe that both characters should be played by unknowns, actors we have never seen before, that way they ARE Christian & Ana and we have no pre-conceived idea’s on the actor or his/her acting abilities. I really hope EL James reads this because I would also like to mention that I think that ANGELINA JOLIE would be an awesome DIRECTOR. She would have the balls to stand up for the integrity of the books and can be trusted to not water the movie down. This movie will not do if there is simply a flash of a breast and then fade to black – scene over. NO! NO! NO! That simply won’t do. I am so happy to hear that the production of Fifty Shades is in the works. The storyline was amazing and the book was well written. I actually felt like I could relate to the characters and shared their emotions. My only hope is that the movie can capture the personalities of the characters, and without omitting all the “GOOD STUFF”!
I think Christian’s character would be played well by Matthew Mcconauhey. I just picture him running his fingers through his hair the way that Christian does! I for one will definitely hang on his words!

I know everyone has an opinion about the cast. I am sure whoever they pick will be perfect. However, I would love to see Jenna Dewan-Tatum and Channing Tatum as the star roles. I think their chemistry and looks will prove to be the perfect match for these parts. Hope they would be considered at least.
I think these two would fit the parts perfectly as well. when I heard they were making a movie I thought of Channing tatum right away he has the look and so does his wife. They would fit these part so well, its like these parts were made for them.

First of all I LOVE 50 SHADES! And while i was reading the books i had a spesific image of Christian in my mind and Ryan Reynolds fits it almost perfectly. I was agreeing with everyone about Ian Somerhalder being the perfect match but i havent seen him act. I have seen him in an interview, he seems too.. care-free, to play Christian (and i dont think he would look good as a blonde). With the Actors people want to be chosen, you have to remember that.. they have to look good with blonde hair.. sorry to burst your bubble about all the spunky men, but he must look mouth-watering as a blonde too

I was in a bar in New York & sitting at a small table in the playwright bar close to Macy’s reading my book, I was approached by a STUNNING piercing & sexy and smouldering dark haired man with some copper going through the top of his hair naturally. His eyes were so kind and sexy too. Can that be REAL, i AM TELLING YOU, IT WAS! This guys was so beautiful & strong it was almost as if It was unreal. I got some luck and spoke to a girl that worked there. She said he is a favorite among the ladies there and he had his very own fan club. I found that believable. She told me ‘he is from Ireland but is an actor just plodding along doing small radio voice overs and plays’ I was instantly alerted praying that one day this man could play the part of Christian Grey.
I left without having the courage to speak to this guy (David Mitchell curtosy of the co-worker) but when I went for my coat, he walked to the door behind me & said ‘Have a nice evening mam’ OMGoodness, he’s a natural Christian & he possibly doesn’t even know about the character I think he was possibly born to play. I contimplated if I should post the 3 books address them to this David Mitchell guy but decided against it.
I finished my stops and my final visit was to Washington were I went to see a play with my best friend from college. Not having told her yet about this guy, we sat to our seats and the play began. In came one character, then another then another. The play was called ‘The Seafearer’
Out came this guy, dressed like a tramp, hair gelled down to his face. Accent came, Holy christ it’s the Irish guy from the bar. Now, how much of a coincidence is this…….. Please please please check this guy out. I am telling you, someone unknown & smoking hot with super acting skills not seen by many you will be super siked if you get this guy. Laides, until the cast this man, you can see him at this bar The Playwright. It’s about 6 blocks from Macy’s. You will make your NY trip memorable when you see his nice warm smile. Gotta love the Irish. My grandparents are Irish & such beautiful people. Please check him out.

ALEXANDER SKARSGARD! Not only does he WANT to play grey, he is who I imagined as I read the book! He’d be so perfect for the part! The way he can use his eyes just to show his feelings is exactly why I pictured him as Christian in the first place- the way he can swithlch emotions so quickly and with conviction! *swoon* hahaha. PLEASE pick him. I honestly don’t think anyone else could do the part justice. As far as ana, I think it should be an unknown actress.

I just hope they really keep in mind the age of the characters. The only thing that didn’t turn me off the first book, was that he wasn’t much older than her. If he had been in his 30′s and she only 21, I would have simply looked at him as a dirty old man, preying on a young girl. It was only that he was in his 20′s as well, that kept me reading.
When I hear names like Angelina Jolie being suggested for Ana…. Yikes! Maybe she’d make a good Mrs. Robinson?? Far too old for Ana though.

I do not like to read but Fifty Shades of Grey has me addicted. My youngest daughter was reading the 3 series and I started. It is addictive and a page turner. I am 3/4 of the way through the 2nd book. In the beginning I hated Christian and thought Ana was crazy. Now after learning some of the things in Christian’s childhood I feel differently about “Fifty Shades of Fucked Up.”
Additionally, regarding who should play Christian in the upcoming movie I vote for
Alexander Skasgard for anyone who is not a fan of True Blood he plays Eric Northman. As for Ana I am not sure I would have to do some research.

My choice for Christian is TOTALLY Zac Efron; his acting is emotionally charged and magnetic, and I really feel he has grown as an artist over the past few years. And, not to mention, he is absolutely GORGEOUS. Google pictures of him in a suit if you don’t believe me!

Dan Stevens from downton abbey has the eyes I think, and is less well known so may be able to pull off the character better as we won’t see him as ‘that actor from such a such a film’ – but I agree with rebecca02 – it’s more about the acting than the looks. I wonder how the film will compare with the writing . .

Benedict Cumberbatch was the first thing that came to mind when I would put a face on Christian G. I really haven’t seen much of his characters of the impressive list of his performance in films, TV-series and theatres. But his Sherlock sure made a big impression on me! Impatience to not fast enough get to know the resolution of Ana’s and Christians life together, I spent every free and awake minute reading the books. Now I will try to regain some hours of lost sleep…I eagerly look forward to the publication of the cast! …And I really enjoyed the books – they really appealed to my Swedish heart and soul – Thank You EL James!
I was thinking that E L James and the casting team might consider new talent for this project…It’s such a strong story that it doesn’t need major Star power to get people to see it on film…anyone who has read these books has already purchased a ticket for the show in their mind! While reading about Christian I thought that Jackson Rathbone (Jasper from Twilight) would play the part really well, he has something haunting about his eyes, and I agree with earlier posts about Felicity Jones, she would make a great Ana…sweet and yet strong!
