OMG! I kept hearing everyone talk about these books…..so i finally bought the first one to see what all the hype was about….well before I knew it I had to buy the next two….I read all three books in 4 days!!!! I could not put then down…..now I am re-reading them. I want to know more!!! I truly hope EL James keeps wring about these characters! I AM HOOKED!!!
I would like to say,”THANK YOU” to Erika Leonard. I have been married to my husband for 15yrs. I left him this spring, I had spent the last few years feeling inadequate as a wife I didn’t want to be touched I felt as if there was something wrong with me. I love my John my husband that was never the issue but we could not even have a conversation with out it frustrating me, he is not one to open up and talk share his feelings and thoughts. When I moved out I wasn’t sure if my marriage could be saved or not. But, I recently moved home and we have both been trying to make our marriage work. I seen on GMA (Good Morning America) where they were talking about the book Fifty Shades of Grey and the buzz and I was intrigued. I read all trilogy in a week. I laughed,cried, and somewhere along the trilogy I woke up, it was as if I had some kind of inner awaking. I have a inner goddess. I have been a bookworm type person but I think buying the trilogy was one of the best things I ever did it has help save my marriage helped me feel alive again with passion and desire. I never thought a book could help me so much, THANK YOU! I have shared my books with family members and friends and their response is amazing. I keep thinking about the Shades of Christian and Meet Fifty Shades I seriously hope their the beginning of the NEXT trilogy. I would love to read more about Christian’s version. Do you plan on coming back to the east coast?You did a book signing in DC but that was before i got hooked on the story and christian and ana. I have read them 6 times now to the point my books are falling apart lol. I am also looking forward to the movie and i think you should use some unknown stars. thanks for all the wonderful love story and helping women get in touch with their kinky side, by the way my hubby is enjoying the kinkieness as well
For casting I think they should have regional casting calls and do a TV show and let callers vote, like America’s Got Talent.
The most amazing is that portuguese are more in front of books news, I was on hollidays at moms country (Portugal) and my aunt was reading it, she told to try to, I bought and came home at the end of month (Luxembourg) where i did read vol1 50 shades in 3 days; I even had dreams about so much i was inside of it lol, too much reading! I just couldnt stop!
Hope all countries are going to sell it because this is the revolution, it remembers me the vote for women and trousers lol this is a new fight, revolution for freedom of ladies, the sexual one!

Garcia wasnt bad at all but E.L should be more rode, like the bible of all bedrooms even if some aspects of sexuality are to hard to happen, like the orgasm (5 in a row???) of Ana, but its ok we forgive this because its a novel, that must explain, its not what happen but what we would love to see happening right?

I just watched your interview with Katie. I disagree with the men that it was all about Christian being a billionaire. That sexual spark and expertise can come from the least expected person. As far as who should play Anastasia, I pictured Emma Stone from the beginning of 50 Shades to the end of Freed. I can’t tell you why, but from the moment she fell into Christian’s office for the interview and through all 3 books Emma was Anastasia.
I just want to THANK YOU E L James, these books are amazing, and i have not read a book like i read these in along time. Once I started them i could not put them down, ive been thinking i was crazy about re-reading them but im not because i do love them.ill be meeting you this week for sure in Houston. I am really hoping for more books,wish the last one didnt end the way it did so you could write further but its ok, i am just thankful for the Kinkynessin this book that its given me and my hubby more to doo,

I just took a week off of work to get somethings done around the house….. I had forgotten I borrowed the first book from my mom, anyhow when I noticed it in my car I picked it up and started reading it while waiting for my daughter to get out of school. Long story short I have finished all three books in less then a week. Now I don’t know what to do with myself. I need more…. a book four…. something. I can’t wait for the movie and I really think Jason Preistly from the original 90210 would make an excellent Christian. Laters!
I have read the trilogy 5 times. I just can’t seem to get enough I am so addicted to these stories. I found myself staying up late at night to find a stopping point that never materialized. After reading Fifty Shades of Freed I was left wanting and needing “more”. I have so many questions about the characters; I want to know about Kate and Elliot’s wedding, did Mia and Ethan get together? How long is Jack Hyde’s incarceration? And mostly what happens with the infamous Mrs. Robinson and Leila because I know for a fact that they are not out of the picture. Because, they both love Christian in their own warped and demented way. You are an amazing writer. I heard that you will be here in Houston on the 19th of September, I plan to be at the bookstore, hopefully you will be able to sign my books. I do not know what it is but I am beguile over these books, I have the paperbacks, I also have them on my Nook, and I plan to order the hardbacks. Thank you for giving me something pleasurable and entertaining to get me through the day.

I hope you will add another trilogy from Christian’s perspective, their lives with their beautiful kids etc. Also, more on Kate, Elliott, Mia & Ethan! Perhaps an HBO or Showtime series to display each of their stories. It would be nice to see unknown actors to play these characters. As were the Twilight characters. Although, I do have a suggestion for Christian, Chris Hemsworth! Please hurry with the next trilogy, the movie can’t get here fast enough. You’re brilliant! I hope you visit us in StL, MO.
I read all three books in 4 days! I’m so obsessed with Christian and Ana! Although I’m happy that Hollywood stood up and noticed a great story, I’m on the fence about a movie being made. I would be surprised to see a true depiction of the story on the big screen.There is so much emotion in these books that it would be hard for anyone to sum it up in a 2hr movie. With that being said I would still be the first in line for a ticket.Congrats! E L James on writing 3 great novels.I look forward to the fourth! (hint, hint)
I just finished all 3 books and I must say that I feel saddness because I want more! I have read the book in 2 weeks between work, school and my family even if that meant losing sleep because I could not bring myself to put the book down! These books have changed my marriage so much me and my husband are closer than ever! I have become obessed with reading these books and will be rereading them. I hope and look forward to more books about the wonderful Grey family! I dream about what I have read each day and I have played my own little movie in my head. I would love for it to continue! I look forward to the movie coming out but I know that the books hold so much more. I can sit and talk about these books with my friends all day with out ever getting bored!

The character development and progression was first rate in these books. I could actually visualize the characters as I was reading because I knew them so well. For example, when Ana talks about how Christian looked at her when she was wearing the very short blue dress, then asked “are you planning to put some jeans on or something”, I swear I could see an image of his face (and his frown) in my head. LOL!
I have just finished reading the third book today and I loved it full on. I have never read a series this fast and full detail from beggining to end. I love how the two main characters have evolved. I’m plan to read the books again starting today because it was just so creatively written,structed and tantalizing with every turn of the page. I LOVE THE FIFTY SHADES TRILOGY. Thank you!
I love how the characters progress (only read book 1 &2 at this point). It’s not the erotica that draws me in, but the time spent in developing the characters. The pain Christian so clearly struggles with, and the inexperience Ana has to accept. Great Job, and thank you for giving me (and any other woman in my shoes) something very special.

I have read all three books and reread many times! I have marked all the “special” sections in the book that have gotten me very hot! And I have enjoyed having “storytime” with someone special. Can’t stop thinking about the books. I would love to read more.

I will be extremely disappointed if Henry Cavill is not cast as Christian. He is tall, handsome, strong jaw line, beautiful eyes, perfect-strong body, and can act quite well. His performance in the Tudors should be testimony. Henry would make a perfect Christian!!!!
Armie Hammer for sure! When I read her books I hear Armie’s deep man voice and picture him. He can do angry – Social Network? He wasn’t so happy in that film; yet, he can also be playful like in Mirror Mirror. He’s HAWT!

As much as I cannot wait to see the movie, I truly hope they take their time with casting and writing the screenplay. Christian has to be drop dead gorgeous and Anastasia can’t be an instant bombshell but someone who has classic beauty and is then transformed.(Like Anne Hathaway in Princess diaries or the devil wears Prada, although she is too old for the part) As far as the screen play is concerned, this cannot be one movie. The screenwriters have a real task on their hands.
I agree I worry that they will leave out so much just as with many books that have turned into a moive. And everything in this books are so important down to every little detail! i am sure that each person that has read this books has there own version of Christian and Ana in their head and its going to be a hard task to find the right people. And your right this is not going to be a one moive thing if the do it right! As much as would love to see the movie I too hope that they take their time and do it right!!
I just finished the third book today! and all i can say is WOW! this is the best triology I have read ever! I couldnt put it down and finished it in about a week and a half! I’m going to reread it again! I;m just facinated by the character and the plot of the story! I’m in love with the whole story and I’m glad I’m not the only one that is rereading it! Into my third time with the Audiobook. What I find is the strength of Ana to bring Christain from the dark into the light. Steele is an apt name given the backbone she must have to prevail in this struggle but it is her love and determination that makes this story so powerful and life affirming. Thank you for this beautiful and tender love story that has allowed me to smile, cry, and believe in the power of love.

Hello, my co-worker was reading Fifty shades of grey and told me a little about the book. I was in the book store that weekend and called called her because there were three different books and I couldn’t remember the name. I bought the first on and started it on friday night by Sunday I was almost finished. I logged on to amazon and ordered the other two on Monday. I received them by Wed and finished reading all of them within 2 weeks time. I could not put thoses books down. I loved the whole series… I would love for you to continue with series… Please!! I will tell you this I was a avid reader and not sure why I stopped. I have a e-reader but the feel of a book in my hand is like no other. Thanks to you I have my passion back and have been going to the bookstore and buying books.

Casting for the movie, someone in the other thread suggested Alexis Bledel (Gilmore Girl) as Ana. She is a perfect choice!! She looks exactly how Ana is described in the book with those big blue eyes, almost too big for her face. And she looks, innocent. One could easily see how/why someone like Christian who has spent so much time in darkness would be immediately smitten with her.
Alexis is 31 years old.
Yes, I know Alexis is 31. I have seen recent pictures of her, and I couldn’t tell if she was 22 or 31. She still looks very young. Frankly I’m not sure if a real teen or 20 year old could pull off this role. To do it right, will require some acting maturity. But, I understand your point, I was surprised when I saw several people suggesting Matthew McCaughney and Brad Pitt for the role of Christian, who’s 28. They are between 45 and 50.

I loved Fifty Shades and especially enjoyed Fifty Shades Darker.
I was pouting when I saw only a few pages left to read in the trilogy.
I would love to see Charlie Hunnam as Christian Grey and Julia Taylor Ross play Anastasia in the movie.
